Cellulite

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is a term for lumpy, dimpled flesh on the thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen. It’s most common in adolescent and adult women. Many cellulite treatments, including massage, radiofrequency (Accent Skin Tightening), or cellulite creams, advertise remarkable results. At CosMedics, we have the most updated technology when it comes to treating cellulite.

Cellulite Treatment Options

Topical Creams

Twice a day applications of cellulite creams have been proven to show results over 6-8 months of consistent use.

Therapeutic:

Accent Laser

Accent laser skin tightening is a non-invasive radio frequency (RF) device for reducing cellulite, performing body contouring and skin tightening. It is unique because it employs not 1, but 2 types of radio frequency to target cellulite. The treatment can create dramatic improvement in the appearance of cellulite without any downtime.*

Preventive:

  • Weight loss: Although healthy eating and regular exercise might improve the appearance of the dimpled skin, weight loss and exercise won’t make it go away completely.

*For best results, it is recommended to use all of the above in conjunction with each other.*

What Causes Cellulite?

Cellulite is caused by irregular patterns of connective tissue beneath the skin. As the adipose (fatty) tissue, which forms in compartments of little honeycombs, pushes into the skin, it causes the dimpling of cellulite.
