What is Coolsculpting

The CoolSculpting, fat-freezing procedure is a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting�so you�ll look great from every angle.

How does the Coolsculpting Treatment work?

During your treatment, a gel pad and applicator are applied to targeted areas for applicators that use vacuum action. The surface skin and fat are pulled into the applicator, similar to if you pinched a section of your skin and lightly pulled. You may feel pulling, tugging and mild pinching.

Controlled cooling is then delivered to the targeted fat, so you may feel a cooling effect. Afterwards, patients are able to return to normal activities with minimal downtime.

Risks/Common Side Effects

Common side effects following  Coolsculpting� include:

• Temporary redness
• Swelling
• Bruising
• Skin sensitivity

These symptoms are caused by the body�s reaction to cold temperature exposure. As the treated tissue heals, these symptoms go away gradually after a few weeks.

What is Liposuction

We do not offer this treatment at CosMedics. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure in which fat is suctioned out of the body from specific areas.

• Risks include infection, scarring, delayed wound healing, bruising, or bleeding.
• Issues specific to this surgery are asymmetry, numb skin, and contour irregularities.
• Rare complications are fat emboli and injury to the overlying skin.

Belkyra

1. What is Belkyra?
   Belkyra is a non-surgical injectable treatment that targets and destroys fat cells beneath the chin (submental fat). Belkyra helps reduce the severity of the double chin as well as contouring the jawline. It uses deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally found in the body to induce fat cell destruction.
2. How does Belkyra work?
   Belkyra’s deoxycholic acid breaks down fat cell membranes, causing the fat cells to die. Over weeks, your body naturally eliminates these destroyed cells, reducing fullness under the chin.
3. Am I a good candidate for Belkyra?
   Good candidates are adults with moderate to severe double chin who are close to their ideal weight and overall healthy. Belkyra is not a weight-loss solution and is only approved for use under the chin. It’s not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
