Acne & Blemishes
Most of us have suffered from some form of acne at some point in our lives. Whether it presents primarily as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or cysts, acne and blemishes can be unsightly and damaging to self-confidence and emotional well being. Although this condition is quite common, effective acne treatments can be elusive. At CosMedics, we offer a wide variety of treatment options personalized for each patient.
Age & Sun Spots
Age spots, or solar lentigines, are small dark areas on the skin. They may vary in size and often appear on the face, hands, shoulders and arms. These stubborn spots are caused by overactive pigment cells and the overproduction of melanin that is exacerbated by sun exposure. Skin lightening treatments including bleaching creams, peels, and resurfacing lasers (HALO, Pixel) may help lighten or remove these spots.
Cellulite
Eventually most people develop some degree of cellulite and unfortunately, diet and exercise will do little to help smooth it. At CosMedics we offer a range of fat removal and cellulite treatments, and body contouring treatments such as CoolSculpting fat removal and Accent skin tightening. Our medical aestheticians have extensive education, training, and experience in these procedures and will be with you every step of the way to help you achieve optimal results.
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
Focal Injections has proven to be an effective treatment option for heavy sweating.
A series of injections to underarms, palms or bottoms of feet, works by preventing the release of a chemical that signals the sweat glands to activate. There are several important things to understand about focal injection treatments for hyperhidrosis. First, it is a temporary treatment. The procedure must be repeated periodically to maintain results. Second, treatment with focal injections will not mean that sweat gets backed up or goes elsewhere. Instead, sweat is not produced at all in the treated areas while the rest of your body sweats as usual.
As excessive sweating is recognized as a medical condition, this treatment is often covered partially or fully by most Extended Health and Dental Insurance plans.
Melasma
Melasma is skin hyperpigmentation that usually occurs along the forehead, around the cheeks and above the upper lip. It is different from other forms of skin pigmentation because of its asymmetrical or patch like pattern.
Melasma is due to the over production of melanocytes often linked to sun exposure, genetics, and hormone levels. Melasma is a stubborn skin condition that may be greatly improved through the use of prescription creams, lightening agents, lasers, and ongoing sun safety.
Chronic Migraines
Disabling migraines continue to happen in some people, even after they have made attempts to avoid trigger factors, and make lifestyle changes. If you experience headaches or migraines, visit Dr. Singh, as you may need to try alternative treatments to reduce or eliminate the severity of the attacks.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. While there is no cure for rosacea, treatments are available that can control and reduce the signs and symptoms.
Scarring & Stretch Marks
At CosMedics we combine several different treatment modalities to help diminish the appearance of scarring and stretch marks: laser treatments (HALO, Pixel), microdermabrasion, chemical peels, at-home skincare products, and prescription medications help address these conditions.
TMJ Pain
Treatment of TMJ disorder is a quick and painless process that requires no anaesthetic and no hospital stay. Injectables are injected directly into the muscles where soreness is occurring. Most people feel noticeable relief within a day or two of treatment as it prevents the muscles in the jaw from engaging in the powerful and often unconscious movement, the underlying cause of TMJ pain.
Although it is a temporary treatment, results can last up to 3 months
. Additionally, the use on the jaw muscles has the potential to enhance the appearance for patients with square jaws as the injection relaxes and softens the overall jawline.
Under eye bags and dark circles
The medical industry has evolved significantly to now offer patients a wide variety of non-surgical options to address and treat the skin around the eyes. Undergoing costly, painful surgery is no longer the only option to address hollow, puffy, saggy, under eye areas.
Veins and vessels
Tiny veins or larger vessels vary in color, and are visible just below the skin. Their existence often signals that some form of trauma occurred to the vein branch to cause the valve within the vein to collapse and back fill.
Weight Loss
A nutrient rich diet and regular physical activity are pillars in overall health and fitness. Weight loss options and services at CosMedics such as CoolSculpting, and Proellixe Vibration Therapy can help target those areas that require special attention.
